The 14-15 GMC Sierra projector headlight is a cool setup: - it uses a single beam bulb (9012, 1 filament) but creates both your high and low beam patterns separately. The headlight accomplishes this by activating an internal solenoid that moves a cut off shield inside the projector. When the shield is up, you get a low beam pattern with a cut off line. When the shield is down and out of the way you get all the light and a wide flood high beam. This HID kit replaces your original halogen bulb with HID to get both high beam and low beam, 500% brighter than stock!

PWM Integration: PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation, it's when the vehicle flashes the input voltage to your bulbs so fast that you can't see the difference, but it modulates the activity of the halogen bulb. That's fine on an old style halogen/incandescent, but on HID systems it might make a flashing or strobing effect, or not work at all. The proprietary technology used in the GTR Lighting GEN 5 Smart System HID ballast integrates with all PWM and CANBUS vehicles for optimal functionality.
CANBUS Integration: The key component of all HID ballasts is the controller used to manage all functions including ignition, protection, and constant use. Whatever type of controller is used is what dictates the quality level of the ballast. There are two kinds of controllers used inside HID ballasts: 1. CPU Controller -or- 2. ASIC Controller
A standard CPU controller: is the most common construction type for aftermarket ballasts because it is simple, common and cheap to produce. It requires very little quality control or strict design to function, therefore it's easy for ballast makers to create low quality CPU controlHID products. It isn't very hard and it is very cheap to build. They work OK when made with high quality components but this is not often the case. A CPU controller lacks the ability to monitor the HID lamp (as the lamp power-decay changes over time) so it can cause short lifespan from overpowering, or low light output from underpowering. Generally speaking the defect rate of a CPU Controller based ballast is high, and the lifespan is shorter.
An ASIC controller: like what's used in the GTR Lighting GEN 4 ballast is what you'll find in an OEM ballast for intelligent bulb control. The ASIC-based ballast technology is sophisticated, complex and intuitive. The Hylux ASIC technology will react to the bulb response to power and increase or decrease output to keep the bulb running bright for the longest possible time. ASIC technology also allows the ballast to have a higher level of CANBUS integration for vehicles that use PWM control or adaptive lighting. It's not a 100% fix for every vehicle, but the technology is designed to be the most flexible and work with the most applications easier. HID ballasts that use Hylux ASIC technology are also more expensive to make because the components required to build this system are high quality - you can not make a cheap ASIC ballast, therefore everything about a Hylux ballast is better: Faster warmup time, less ignition noise, brighter stable operating light, less flicker-fluctuation and a longer lifespan. Simply put, the GTR Lighting HID ballasts with GEN 4 Hylux technology are the best aftermarket ballast available.

This HID kit: uses single beam HID bulbs with a built-in adapter wiring harness. Single beam are the type of headlight or fog light bulbs that have 1 filament per bulb. If your car or truck has 2 light bulbs per headlight housing and one does low beam, the other does high beam - you've got single beam bulbs! Same goes for fog lights, nobody has ever built a car or truck with a dual beam fog light bulb.
NOTE ABOUT PROJECTORS:: Some projector-based headlights use a single beam inside the projector and use an external actuator to control a shutter inside the housing to create a high beam/low beam effect, all the while using a single beam bulb... That means it's possible to have a single beam bulb control both high and low beam but only in SOME projector headlight applications. (e.g. Dodge Ram uses a single beam bulb + a dual beam Projector. Toyota Tacoma uses a single beam bulb + a single beam projector). This kit is designed to plug into your factory headlight wiring to control the new HID bulbs and ballasts.

Exactly what I wanted
I have a hard time seeing at night, all I can say is WOW these HID's are awesome.
Lights work ok but I wonder about the connection?
The light out-put is much better. The problem was the installing of the connection between the truck and the actual HID light bulb. Between trying to figure out which way to flip the connection and the really struggling with the truck power cord and the light my blood pressure was rising. The two prongs ( light cord) that fit into the truck power continually pushed out the and didn't seed into the truck,light power.. After many many tries finally one worked by working over and over on those two prongs to make good connection. Continually trying to insert the light prongs caused the truck power cord to be forced away from a solid connection even though they clipped together very well.The first night my son-in-law and I watched the film quite a few times and every thing seemed to be easy when putting it together. He is an electrician (28 years) and very well versed on all of this because of his mechanical ability. Frustration started to set in probably because of my age (72). I called and contacted HR the next morning and they told me I have to do both bulbs before the lights to work. ( I don't think that is the case).. The next afternoon at about 3:30 we were at it again. Putting both installs together we had no lights on both sides. Called the company and the guy that helped quoted he has been with the company for a long time and he knew that the prong connection was probably the problem. Over and over we worked on trying to make it work with his suggestions of what to do. More frustration for both of us. Finally the drivers side bulb lit up and now after two hours we wondered about the passenger side We wondered about that extra connection wire because we didn't get it to work and he said it is not definitely needed for the install and we were concerned about that connection because we had originally tried that many times. By putting quite a bit of pressure on the back side of the female connector (truck power) holding it to be not forced out we finally got the lights to work. He was right that is a problem. If that would work well then the install would go much easier. He jokingly said he will cut the connection and wire nut it together but I didn't let him because I was going to return the whole set up. Of course we are both wondering if that connection will remain solid or rattle loose after all we are driving on the roads that do have some bumps. My biggest concern is if they know that will or might be a problem why don't they do something about it because my son-in-law says that should be able to be conquered. Plus what does that extra power cord do since I now don't have it installed but every thing is still working? HR experts tried to help and they did know this could be a problem.ON the positive side I am happy with the lights illumination. Much better than what I had. On the negative side the connection install at that one point was ver very tricky. I also noticed some radio interference after driving with the lights on . I was hoping that maybe it was just the station because some stations it didn't occur. I hope that HR stands behind all of this because I am skeptical of this set up causing more problems I was really hoping that this would solve my problem with the 2015 GMC sierra and maybe it will ?

If anybody has or knows someone who owns a 2014 or 2015 GMC Sierra you will understand this review. On the first day God said let there be light, so he created Headlight Revolution and light was created !!! the difference between factory then LED's compared to the HID conversion kit I installed is like night vs day. No more stress when driving at night. Thanks guys. The only upgrade I would like to see is a adjustable headlight bulb, I had to spin the bulb to a different position to give the light projection that straight line across the top that you see on you tube. No complaining because it all worked out and i am more than satisfied but a adjustable headlight bulb would be an awesome upgrade. Keep up the good work. Thanks again

I have a GMC Sierra with Projector headlights and for years have had to deal with minimal light to see where i was going. I was determined to fix it, first considering replacing the whole fixture with LED's. But the cost would have been well over $1,000 to do not to mention making it work. I had a burnt out bulb which now forced me to find a solution and i found a video online on the HR headlights and why they were the way to go. So i bought them and after just a few hours work and some adjustments, i now had new lights and they were as bright as my wife's car which has Zenon lights. I wish i looked into this years ago, in fact i wish GMC would look into this solution. All I can say is "Problem Solved"

Very easy to install if you use the supplied pig tail wires which are black. Lights are super bright now! You guys hit it on the head with this one!

Lights have a nice spread and distance which i love and a lot brighter then my old HIDs which i love fully recommend getting these
Still not there yet..
Read most of the reviews before purchase. Decided to buy these even though they cost quite a bit more and had a great you tube video (so I thought).
First problem no response from HR after purchase of lights ,even a 2.99 cell phone case off eBay acknowledges purchase via email.
Got the light kit delivered everything looked good and was plug and play.
Took everything apart put it together. Guess what no lights. Then I remembered another reviewer complaining about wires that clip together but are REVERSED.
Check wires , yup . Factory wires red and black. Red is hot. Light kit blue and black. Blue is hot.
Clip it in backwards I get one light on. Swap out ballasts. No light, swap out original back in I have lights, swap out new hid bulbs finally get lights working.
This is after cycling on and off truck etc.
The point is you would think that a light set that is over 100.00 more than another retailer they could at least tell you that the wiring is manufactured wrong or fix the problem. Maybe put a 1 cent piece of paper in the box stating that problem.
Also the video is outdated as the light kit is not the same.
Hopefully the lights last a long time but time will tell. They are brighter.
Hr hit it out of the park with these lights.I will tell you wasted a lot of money on other lights because of the canbus set up in the 2015 GMC Siera,plug and play for sure.
A good idea poorly executed
Ok so like the rest of you my 2014 Sierra had abysmal OEM headlights, we're talking dangerous bad. So I finally ponied up the three hundred bucks for these hoping to really knock this problem out in one felt swoop. The good news? These are bright and they do solve the problem you're trying to solve. The bad news? The harnesses are poorly built causing many issues, days of delays and lots of back and forth with support (which was very friendly but not too helpful as I was the one who found and fixed both issues I had).
So the issues I had: when connecting the "extension harnesses" (which I still don't know the purpose of, since no extending was necessary) the male pins inside the male plug would push themselves back wards through the connector causing no connection and no headlights. This happened on both left and right sides causing neither headlight to work. I went back and forth with support swapping wires here and there, swapping components from left to right, nothing worked of course. Support was just about to mail me out a whole new kit when I discovered the problem with the pins. A new kit would have caused a whole 'nother week of waiting and likely could have had the exact same issue, doh! Oh ya, another thing, the plug at one end of each extension harness was assembled backwards so that when connected to the headlight plug the female connector had no tab to lock into, it was just assembled backwards. Lets hope it doesn't wiggle out over time?
Second show stopper: once the faulty pins issue was sorted I triumphantly drove around the country square harnessing the power of the sun until I realized my passenger side light was stuck on high beam, doh again! This required more messaging of support guy and he said swap things from the right side to left side and see if the problem follows. Dang man, so do everything over again a 10th time? Nah bro. So I pulled apart the passenger side to find that due to the excessive length of that darn extension harness the mechanism that flips you from low beam to high beam was jammed and couldn't move. Gah! Easy fix at least, I just routed the extension harness differently inside the housing, but still.
So there ya go, my honest feedback, they work but the experience sucked.
Finally, BIG Lights for a BIG TRUCK!!!
This kit, along with the XB Fog lights, changed my truck into the lit-up beast it should have been!!! Excellent build quality and reasonably easy hookups! Will definitely purchase from Headlight Revolution again!!!
