We supply: only the highest quality LED bulbs from GTR Lighting so you won't have any headaches and they will last a long time. There are several variants of this particular style of LED bulb on the market and not all of them fit. Some are too big, some have end-clips that are the wrong shape. You specifically need one that is narrow, with longer end clips, and flexible end-wiring. The bulb is a direct replacement, but watch the video and notice that you have to give the LED bulb a little twist after hooking it up and point the LEDs down towards the engine bay.

Better than stock

I got the bulb for my 2010 Ram 1500. The bulb want as bright as I hoped, but it was a massive improvement from the OEM bulb. It was a little tricky replacing the bulb, the housing has some clips you need a small flathead to release. After that it's easy.

2012 Ram under hood LED light

LED light its self is very nice but it's not made right for the under hood light on the rams. When installed in the light housing it is facing sideways instead of downward and there is not reflective backing in housing to reflect the light down. I had to modify the light housing to make led light face downward.

I am impressed with how bright the light is, but disappointed that it shines only to the right side of the engine bay because of the way the factory housing is set up. The previous incandescent bulb was 360degrees all around and the new LED is only pointed to the side.
LED Underhood Light

Light was easy to install but the wire loops on the ends need to be at a 90 degree to the LED backing plate. Even turning a little to the limit allowed before breaking as shown on the install video didn't really work very well. And this install meant a large portion of the light was NOT directed under the hood but back into the light fixture. I left it in because of the white light...but the usable light is mostly shining back into the fixture and not the engine compartment.

So only reason it gets two starts is because the way these mount into the housing isn't the best. Feels super flimsy and I feel like it's bound to break soon.
Sadly, not the best from HR. I will say the other products I have gotten form them have been great!
Bright, but could be better...

This light is plenty bright and installs very quickly and easily. However, it is a bit flawed in its execution, as the stock mounting configuration requires it to be turned to one side or the other. The result of this is that there is not even light distribution across the entire engine bay. This could be resolved by having a two-sided board chip configuration with LEDs on both sides. Overall, still preferable over the stock power-consuming hog of a bulb.
