INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

Complete H1 HID Kit: If you've been looking for a complete one-stop-shop kinda kit to run HIDs, this one from GTR Lighting has been painstakingly designed to optimize performance and reliability. High-quality materials are everywhere and the output is exceptional from the Ultra Series HID bulbs. Expect it to impress all your friends.

The Pinnacle: One of the HID bulbs that put GTR Lighting on the map was this, the Ultra Series. It provides a seriously powerful upgrade to anyone looking to go from halogen to HID.

Precision: One of the hardest things to do in HID lighting is to get the alignment of the bulb itself in the halogen-based housing. Without that, no amount of tweaking and modification is going to get you proper lighting. Thankfully, GTR went to painstaking lengths to ensure an absolutely perfect alignment with the Ultra Series. Each and every bulb is laser aligned into the housing and checked for fitment before it leaves the factory.

Materials: To ensure that alignment doesn't go to waste, GTR uses the best Philips UV Resistant Quartz available. It won't dim and fade fast like lesser alternatives. It comes standard with insulated wiring to make the connections from your AMP style connectors to your ballast as though this harness came from the factory itself. No cutting, no soldering, no splicing. Just plug-n-play performance.

Benchmarking: GTR Lighting didn't design a ballast with simply their own product in mind, they built it to outperform the best of the best in the business. That's why you'll appreciate that the Ultra Series HID Ballast is quieter the competitors while also providing a lighting quick ignition of intense brightness in just .1 seconds with complete power in only 9 seconds. The assembly itself is built to handle the roughest trails, tracks, and weather you can throw at it. This ballast is the complete package.

Installation Ease: Coming in at an incredible compact 2.75x3.5 inches, thisballast is small enough to fit almost anywhere and has complete mounting hardware as well as a grounding strap included.

Flicker Free & No More Bulb Out: Thanks to intelligent Canbus integration technology and an ASIC controller, these ballasts can handling pulsed width voltage or even a complex Canbus circuit. By leveraging those innovations you'll never get lamp out warnings, bulb out warnings, or flickering lighting. GTR really did think of everything.

Body: The high-quality materials will have you proud of your purchase too. The harness itself is 13 inches long, providing more than ample installation flexibility. The body of the ballast is shockproof to handle all of the roads' bumps and bruises, and the outer layer of the wiring loom is fitted with abrasion-resistant mesh so you can count on this ballast to have no weak links.

Projector light replacement

by -

Hi just want to thank the staff at Headlight Revolution for great customer service and carrying a great product. I purchased the HID replacement kit for my wife's car, had no idea what to get was leaning toward LED's but these guys and I'm sure gals no their stuff. I
Install was easy, product was superior and the installer was ok lol. The only regret is I didn't wait for the highest wattage which was on back order, but I plan to get them not because the light are dim, they are great but if I can light the road up more why not.
See HR for all you auto needs and questions, you will get the great service either way...

First off, I just want

by -

First off, I just want to thank Headlight Revolution for the amazing service they gave me. I had purchased the GTR Lighting HID Kit from them, and noticed they had run out of stock. Despite the wait, the kept in contact with me via email throughout the entire process even until after I received my bulbs. I will add that the OEM halogen projector on my vehicle does not show the full potential of the bulbs, I know that if I had HID projectors the performance of these bulbs would be superior to the stock halogen bulbs. Make no mistake, these bulbs are amazing and I would totally recommend them for you car especially if your car comes with OEM HID projectors and you're looking for an upgrade. Thanks Headlight Revolution! I will definitely be doing business with you in the future!

2017 Honda Civic

by -

I was fortunate enough to purchase a vehicle with projector headlights. However, the Civic comes with halogen bulbs, and I immediately sought out better lighting options.

I tried several LED bulbs off of Amazon, and none of them could beat the halogens in terms of lighting distance, and I tried four or five different kinds. I stumbled across the LED headlight bulb shootout done by Headlight Revolution, and upon visiting their website, I knew that it was the real deal. I used to own a 2008 Jeep, and was well versed in quality lighting options (Rigid light bars, JW Speaker headlights, etc.). On the website, I found all of the excellent brands I had known as a Wrangler owner, and knew these people had my Civic lighting solution.

I looked first at the GTR LED headlight bulbs, as I am a huge fan of LED's and have never owned HID's before. I also looked at this product, the HID kit. I noticed a tidbit about LED's in projector housings on the GTR LED bulb product page, which was a very welcome touch to the website, and ultimately led to me buying this kit. They recommended buying an HID kit for projector housings, and based on my experience with the Amazon LED's, things started to make some sense.

It was hard to swallow the cost of the HID's, and I was very hopeful that spending so much on a lighting solution would yield excellent results. At the same time, I also purchased the GTR LED headlight bulbs for my high beams, which are reflector housings, and what LED's are recommended for.

I opted for the 6000K color in the HID kit, in the hopes that it would match the color of the 6000K LED's for the high beams. Unfortunately, the HID kit is not a crystal white color when compared to the LED's; it is slightly (and I mean SLIGHTLY) bluish-green, when compared directly to the high beams. This leads me to believe that the 5000K color might have been a better option to be perfectly white, and I will go with that color temperature once these bulbs burn out.

Now, on to the brightness. Wow. I am very impressed with the light this kit puts out. The effect is most noticeable when driving on an unlit stretch of highway, next to other cars. I can't help but chuckle at the inferiority of factory halogen headlight bulbs in other cars. This kit makes those headlights look like the equivalent of a match being held out the car window.

The project housing does an excellent job of controlling beam pattern, and the cutoff is crisp and in the same spot as the halogens, which means I don't even come close to blinding other drivers. The warm up time is about right, and I don't pay much attention to it anymore.

I did have some difficulty installing these. I got everything wired up, and turned on the headlights... Nothing. I eventually found out that I needed to reverse the black male connector that comes from the bulbs in order for the headlights to work, since factory halogens are insensitive to positive and negative directions. I watched the GMC Sierra HID installation video done by Headlight Revolution, and somewhere in there, they talk about removing the connector. They reinstall it later, but in the same orientation; you need to flip it 180 degrees if you are installing this kit on a 2017 Civic. Other than that, the hardest thing was finding a place to put the ballasts, and I eventually watched enough youtube videos to see that putting them in the fender wells was a decent enough place. I have yet to use the grounding wires, because I have a very hard time justifying drilling into my brand new car. I haven't had any issues yet, and I don't imagine I will.

Overall, I am very impressed thus far. Time will tell how long the bulbs will last, and I hope they last the specified 2500 hours. That's nothing compared to LED's, but the light output is excellent, so I am happy. Overall, other than the price, I am very pleased.

They Work !

by

First off, a shout out to the staff at headlight revolution ! Simply the best in service and taking the time to talk to you. I got this kit and had one ballast that was flaky. They priority shipped a replacement and a call tag to take back the bad one. Nice ! Didn't have to pay shipping back for the defect. As far as the kit itself........I wanted to try something "High End" because I was sick of the other kits out there that one bulb lights and one doesn't. Or they're just not dependable. I wanted something that I could leave the lights on auto and when it's dark out and the lights fire the same time the starter is dragging down the voltage and they fire. This is the kit for that. I didn't use a relay harness either. Just plugged it into the factory bulb connectors. Been using it for about a week and they fire every time. The bulb fitment is excellent also. Lifetime no questions asked warranty is also great ! I put it in a 2017 Ford Taurus projector housing. Ford projectors stink ! Might as well not even have headlights on the car ! The HID kit is the only thing that helps. Even at that the projectors on this car are so focused to the front little light splashes out to the side. Meaning if it's dark and raining and the navigation says make a turn your like where's the turn I cant see anything to the side. The 55 watt kit helped with that but I still have to do something better. Maybe fog light projectors in the future cut into the grille ? I also tried LED bulbs in these projectors and it was no good. So if you have a Ford Taurus and are looking for something that you can see with and that works this is it. Closest thing I've seen to factory HID's and I've tried a lot of stuff. One thing that's important to know is that if the return wire for the bulb is not facing down you could get an annoying black shadow line in the light path. Once again the geniuses at Ford were hard at work again lol. When the bulbs were installed the wire ended up to the left giving me a line down to the right (projectors opposite this) I trimmed the mounting tabs with a dremmel and was able to get the bulbs installed with the return wire facing down getting rid of the line. So to sum it up.... Great kit and great customer service from the staff at Headlight Revolution.

Not too shabby

by -

Put these in the wife's Subaru Outback. Headlight Revolution staff was excellent. The product works well. You do get the high beam check from oncoming vehicles 1-3 times a night driving around as they are so bright that regardless of the beam pattern when you are far enough away you look like you have high beams on. This is less of an issue in or near town where there is overhead ambient light but on a dark road that gets light travel you're gonna get the headlight check. My only complaint is that the modules are smooth and have no great way to zip tie them to anything. You have to run zip ties to the wires which puts stress on the connections. If they added a couple of welded loops like on the S-V.4s that would be awesome. All in all if the lights aren't right the company is rock solid. That's why I've spent over $1500 with them on 2 vehicles.

Upgraded my headlights and now I can actually see!

by -

I actually ordered this almost two years ago, and then life happened, so it didn't get installed until just a few months ago. The kit itself was really easy to work with -- but my car is a royal pain to upgrade. I ended up having to take the bumper off to gain enough access to the headlights for my hands. Not the fault of the kit, though -- everything in the kit worked smoothly.

I'm loving the new lights.

Purchased a set for my low beams and could not believe how crisp, clean and clear they are. Now I am in the process of buying a set for the High beams
