SL1 H8 LED Bulbs: Diode Dynamics came to the market with these SL1 H8 LED Bulbs and we couldn't be much more impressed. They rightly call attention to the exceptionally high build quality and reliability of these lights as well as their smartly designed hotspot and clear optics. Take a deeper dive into what makes the SL1 Special below.
Optimized Performance: We all want performance without compromise and the SL1 delivers that. Unlike other bulbs that claim insane lumen numbers, or aren't legal on the road, the SL1 Fog Light backs up its claims with clear evidence of their ability to produce brighter light (1630 lumens) in a clear and well-defined beam pattern that reduces glare and wasted light. They can manage that thanks to their in-house advanced optical design software which uses a process called 'ray tracing' to simulate exactly what each ray of light is doing as it leaves the light source and works its way onto the target. Through this process, they've ensured that every ray possible brightens up your path.
Rugged Design: While brightness is key in any good light, Diode Dynamics took exception to all the cheap junk out there that starts out bright but can't stand up to the workload of OEM lights. The SL1 was built from the ground up to meet or exceed the reliability standards of OEM lighting. It's been torture-tested from temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees F. Combine that with stress relief points in the wiring harness, solderless terminals, and exclusive zinc castings and you can see why we like it so much.
Size and Heat: A major issue with the vast majority of LED lights on the market today is heat evacuation. To combat high temperatures, many manufacturers incorporate large fans or heat sinks into the bulb assembly. More often than not, these aren't even adequate enough to ensure a long life. At the same time, those large parts ensure that fitment is a pain thanks to the additional heft. Diode Dynamics works around this problem with intelligent engineering in the form of a MagLev fan that won't create interference as it cools the bulb. Because of this high-end tech, the bulb isn't much larger than the original halogen unit, allowing for easier installation and use.
Boost Mode Circuitry: In keeping with their OEM or better quality control, Diode Dynamics uses the same Boost Most Circuitry that you'd find in an OEM LED bulb to ensure that no electrical system can cause an uneven load on the LEDs and burn them out. It's even capable of handling many complex systems that would otherwise require an additional Canbus harness.

Awesome LED Bulbs!
They install really easy and are more than twice as bright as factory halogens. They look great and best of all, made in USA!
Excellent lights - OEM Quality
These lights look and shine OEM. I have no more glare than my yellowish stock bulbs put out. Beam pattern is the same. These lights are bright by at least 3-4x stock. There are brighter bulbs out there and they are dangerously bright. I find these lights to be super bright without calling the attention of the roadside tax assessor. Made and USA is a huge plus and they feel as such. There was not compromise in quality at the price point and they legit feel like they will last for years to come.
Easy enough to install. Way
Easy enough to install. Way brighter than the stock Canyon bulbs
Not worth the money
For $30 these would be a good bargain. For $120 they are vastly over-priced. They were barely brighter than the stock fog bulbs in my Ram 1500, whereas some of the other brands of LED bulbs I've used before were noticeably brighter. The wiring also felt a little sub-par, as did the housings and the large split down the middle that would seemingly allow water inside over time. It was worth a shot to buy American, but in this case I just wasn't happy.
SLF led fog lights. (Yellow).
Fog lights are actually useful now
Put a set in my wife's 2013 Focus ST and they are a welcome upgrade.
SL1 = A1
Just upgraded to the Diode Dynamics SL1 from Sylvania silverstar ultra and Though the Sylvania's were a nice upgrade from Factory I came across Headlight revolution discussing the different LED's on the market. I decided to try the Yellow SLF fogs in September and loved the vibrant color of the LED fog lights. As i looked more into Diode dynamics quality I was impressed (check out their recent plant tour on Youtube). Headlight revolution was a great resource in explaining what to look for in a LED upgrade. I'm glad I didn't just go to Amazon and buy whatever seemed good because their is a lot to consider in buying the correct LED. The SL1's are fantastic, love the 6K temperature, quite a difference from the Sylvania Silverstar ultra and they are plug and play which connects right to you current connection. also picked up the Diode dynamics XP80 Tail lights which are super bright at over 510 lumens per bulb and illuminate quicker than factory bulbs. . I will be upgrading the turn signals (which are plug and play) in the future but I Highly recommend Headlight Revolution as a resource and Diode Dynamics line of bulbs which are made in the U.S.A.
Work great in a projector housing!
I installed H11 SL1 in a 2004 Lexus GX470 with factory halogen projectors. The light output and cutoff with the SL1s is amazingly good, matching the halogen in crispness but far surpassing in brightness.
SL1 LED Low Beam Headlight
Buy Floors Direct, LLC.
The SL1 LED low beam is just okay. I replaced high beam and fog lights as well. Very happy with those. The low beam seems more like a flood light and not focused on anything. Just a wide spread of light.
Very impressive, functional light pattern
Had replaced alarmingly bad OEM halogen with another brand of (so-called) premium LED's but they burnt out in a year. I was impressed with the "made in the USA" though I was slow to buy these because I worried they might not be bright enough, etc.. That was an unfounded fear. Smaller driver, very good functional beam pattern and no glare, no scattered light. I had to clock them; which they are designed to do if necessary and it was easy to do that. Extremely pleased with these.
