SL1 H8 LED Bulbs: Diode Dynamics came to the market with these SL1 H8 LED Bulbs and we couldn't be much more impressed. They rightly call attention to the exceptionally high build quality and reliability of these lights as well as their smartly designed hotspot and clear optics. Take a deeper dive into what makes the SL1 Special below.
Optimized Performance: We all want performance without compromise and the SL1 delivers that. Unlike other bulbs that claim insane lumen numbers, or aren't legal on the road, the SL1 Fog Light backs up its claims with clear evidence of their ability to produce brighter light (1630 lumens) in a clear and well-defined beam pattern that reduces glare and wasted light. They can manage that thanks to their in-house advanced optical design software which uses a process called 'ray tracing' to simulate exactly what each ray of light is doing as it leaves the light source and works its way onto the target. Through this process, they've ensured that every ray possible brightens up your path.
Rugged Design: While brightness is key in any good light, Diode Dynamics took exception to all the cheap junk out there that starts out bright but can't stand up to the workload of OEM lights. The SL1 was built from the ground up to meet or exceed the reliability standards of OEM lighting. It's been torture-tested from temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees F. Combine that with stress relief points in the wiring harness, solderless terminals, and exclusive zinc castings and you can see why we like it so much.
Size and Heat: A major issue with the vast majority of LED lights on the market today is heat evacuation. To combat high temperatures, many manufacturers incorporate large fans or heat sinks into the bulb assembly. More often than not, these aren't even adequate enough to ensure a long life. At the same time, those large parts ensure that fitment is a pain thanks to the additional heft. Diode Dynamics works around this problem with intelligent engineering in the form of a MagLev fan that won't create interference as it cools the bulb. Because of this high-end tech, the bulb isn't much larger than the original halogen unit, allowing for easier installation and use.
Boost Mode Circuitry: In keeping with their OEM or better quality control, Diode Dynamics uses the same Boost Most Circuitry that you'd find in an OEM LED bulb to ensure that no electrical system can cause an uneven load on the LEDs and burn them out. It's even capable of handling many complex systems that would otherwise require an additional Canbus harness.

Huge improvement over stock. I feel more than confident driving at night again. Clean white beam cast on the road. Easy install
I watched countless you tube video reviews on LED lighting performance. Back in my rooky days of buying LED lights , I bought a set of 4 sided LEDs for the low beams of my Altima, (so embarrassed I did that) but they were better than the original Halogens. When I found this site, it caught my attention. Then after watching Headlight revolutions comparison videos, it made perfect sense about the design of the Diode Dynamics bulb. So I went all in an bought a set Hi/low for my 2013 Altima, and Bam! After the install which was a no brainer, easy plug and play, by the way I also replaced my headlight lamp buckets with new ones at the same time. I was worried that the 5700 kelvin would not be bright enough, but NOT, it's bad a** bright. The Diode Dynamic bulbs are 100 percent spot on, hot spot beam is awesome, cut line is precise, down road vision, peripheral vision is 100 percent awesome, a simple adjustment on the Altima headlamp did the trick to put the hot spot/cut line dead on! What sold me on the Diode Dynamic bulbs was the straight forward review by Headlight Revolution, no BS, no propaganda. Just the facts, side by side comparisons.
In a few weeks I am going to buy the complete set for my 2015 F150. By the way, do not order from Diode Dynamics, they are back logged at least 6 weeks, Headlight Revolution had stock on hand at the time I wanted to get these LEDs, both sites are the same price.
Chevy Colorado Projector Low Beam H11
Was on the fence about purchasing the SL1 H11 bulbs for a 2018 Chevy Colorado with projectors. These bulbs made a huge difference in being able to see in the rain and snow storms. Don't hesitate to purchase these bulbs. Headlight Revolution provided super fast shipping and excellent customer service. The lows are so good that I'm buying the high beams from them.
Finally a Set of LED Bulbs that Actually Light Up the Road
I own a 2011 Toyota Camry with projector lense headlight assemblies. No matter what I have installled into this headlight housing (HID, LED), the light output has always been poor at best. It's like they suck all the light emitted from the bulbs.
But after installing the SL1 bulbs from Diode Dynamics, I can finally see the road with the clarity I have been searching for. Light output is great with the majority of illumination in the hotspot front and centered on the road. Install was not complicated.
Diode Dynamics SL1 LED H11 fitted to a Hyundai Sante Fe 2013 to 2018
Just fitted the Diode Dynamics SL1 LED H11. This takes a little work to fit, but it's worth it.
The Hyundai uses H11B connectors / bulbs, but these can be adapted to fit the H11 LED bulb
You need to get a H11 to H11B conversion lead set for around $10 from eBay.
Remove the H11B Halogen bulb and then take out the three screws that hold in the bulb retainer plate to the headlight housing
Snap off the cast aluminium lug that holds the H11B connector with a small screwdriver.
The spade connectors on the adapter lead set, fit into the H11B connector. Take care to match the black 'negative' wires.
Use three small cable ties to hold the spade connectors in the H11B block and then use electrical insulating tape as a final step.
Connect the LED bulb to the new adapter leads that you have installed taking care to match the black wire with the '-' symbol
Reattach bulb retaining plate (without H11B connector block) to the headlight housing.
I used self adhesive Velcro tape to stop the bulbs in line transformer block rattling around inside the headlight housing.
The whole operation takes about 40 mins per side, but gets good reliable results.
No throw, scattered beam and poor fit
I tried these bulb and found the fit to be extremely tight in the tabs and the beam was scattered, had dark spots and had a short throw, overal the halogen bulb was better. I would not recommend these. Go with the Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0's, flawless install and much brighter over halogen.
Easy to install and a great product
if you want a LED lighting on your car and easy to install like your stock OEM lights this product is must have!
These lights were plug and
These lights were plug and play. A great improvement from the OEM factory. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for these in a projector headlight. The customer service is top notch. The best customer service I have ever received.
