SL1 H8 LED Bulbs: Diode Dynamics came to the market with these SL1 H8 LED Bulbs and we couldn't be much more impressed. They rightly call attention to the exceptionally high build quality and reliability of these lights as well as their smartly designed hotspot and clear optics. Take a deeper dive into what makes the SL1 Special below.
Optimized Performance: We all want performance without compromise and the SL1 delivers that. Unlike other bulbs that claim insane lumen numbers, or aren't legal on the road, the SL1 Fog Light backs up its claims with clear evidence of their ability to produce brighter light (1630 lumens) in a clear and well-defined beam pattern that reduces glare and wasted light. They can manage that thanks to their in-house advanced optical design software which uses a process called 'ray tracing' to simulate exactly what each ray of light is doing as it leaves the light source and works its way onto the target. Through this process, they've ensured that every ray possible brightens up your path.
Rugged Design: While brightness is key in any good light, Diode Dynamics took exception to all the cheap junk out there that starts out bright but can't stand up to the workload of OEM lights. The SL1 was built from the ground up to meet or exceed the reliability standards of OEM lighting. It's been torture-tested from temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees F. Combine that with stress relief points in the wiring harness, solderless terminals, and exclusive zinc castings and you can see why we like it so much.
Size and Heat: A major issue with the vast majority of LED lights on the market today is heat evacuation. To combat high temperatures, many manufacturers incorporate large fans or heat sinks into the bulb assembly. More often than not, these aren't even adequate enough to ensure a long life. At the same time, those large parts ensure that fitment is a pain thanks to the additional heft. Diode Dynamics works around this problem with intelligent engineering in the form of a MagLev fan that won't create interference as it cools the bulb. Because of this high-end tech, the bulb isn't much larger than the original halogen unit, allowing for easier installation and use.
Boost Mode Circuitry: In keeping with their OEM or better quality control, Diode Dynamics uses the same Boost Most Circuitry that you'd find in an OEM LED bulb to ensure that no electrical system can cause an uneven load on the LEDs and burn them out. It's even capable of handling many complex systems that would otherwise require an additional Canbus harness.

H11 in 2012 Nissan Altima

I don't know how stock low beams on a 2012 are even legal. Like driving with dimmed DRL's (no, this car does NOT have them). Sadly, it must be an terrible design flaw, because the DD H11's were only marginally better. Poorly hefined hot spot, lots of shadows and ÃústreaksÃù in the pattern. These are certainly WHITER than stock, by NO BRIGHTER. Will continue to run them, as they are no worse than stock, and they are a pain to install on this car (have to get past the front fender liner and reach in blind). Of note, fans are quite noisy. These are on my wife's car, she noticed a Ãúfunny soundÃù when the headlights were turned on before start-up. You can clearly hear the fans spin up like tiny turbines. I don't think the fans are bad, per se, just a tiny fan really spinning fast yo move some air.
This lights are great !!!
I bought the H11 SL1s, hoping they would fit my '18 Highlander... but they didn't. I was able to fit this in the passenger side however, and when I tested it the beam pattern looks great. They are truly built to be placed in projectors. Also, the brightness seemed just right without being too blinding. Please note that the fans are kind of loud, which is expected with a lot of LEDs in the market. These are a massive upgrade over my stock halogens.
The diode dynamics SL 1 are excellent! Bright just like OEM, no glare and no blinding other drivers, I definetely recommend them, my vehicle looks great with the upgrade to thse bulbs, awesome!
I purchased these for my gas sipping Ford Focus after being spoiled driving my Lariat F150 which has factory LED lighting and purchasing the Focus which has halogen bulbs I just couldn't readjust back to dingy yellow lighting. After reading many reviews I knew that you get what you pay for so going cheap wasnt an option. I decided on these diode dynamics SL1 (H11) bulbs and they are fantastic. If I had to do it over again I would still purchase these. For my particular vehicle it was super easy to install, only needed a large flat screwdriver to remove 2 screws from each assembly, bulbs are direct replacement plug and play. There are a couple of YouTube videos online that you can watch before installing to speed up your installation
Good upgrade from stock
Not as bright as I hoped but a solid improvement of stock 4runner low beam
Diode Dynamics's SLF yellow for 2017 Maxima
New generation Maxima requires 4 H16 bulbs. Ordered 2 pairs, really disappointed that only 2 of the 4 bulbs work. Contacted HR via email. Although it's been only slightly over 24 hrs frustration is starting to set in. Will update this review as situation evolves
I installed a set of these in my new 2018 Tacoma TRD off road. They are a lot brighter than stock Plus a lot nicer look and light.
After several weeks of watching reviews on LED headlight bulbs vs HID bulbs I confidently decided to break away from my past. My past of using HID bulbs in my vehicle. This decision was greatly influenced by Headlight Revolution and the videos they produced. I spoke to their customer service about my concerns and they wrote back with very reassuring comments. I decided to go with the Diode Dynamics SL1 H11 bulbs for my Tacoma. They are a vast improvement over the stock incandescent bulbs. I was so happy with the bulbs for my low beams that I quickly ordered them for my high beams. I'll be ordering them again for my fog lamps. Headlight Revolution's installation and instruction videos are a tremendous help and take away any anxiety one might have with dealing with electrical on their vehicles. I highly recommend Headlight Revolution and will continue to use them for any future projects.
I have tried several other manufacturers LED headlights with no success. The cutoff from the bulbs were super high, blinding oncoming drivers, or I had strange patterns with light going everywhere but on the road. I ended up returning all of these and thought that I had to live with the factory Halogen bulbs in my 2011 Honda Pilot. After seeing a YouTube video on Headlight Revolution and the Diode Dynamics product, I decided to try again. I am glad I did. These bulbs work as stated. The cutoff is virtually the same as the halogen bulbs and they are much much brighter. I had a great opportunity to try them out on highway and farm roads this past weekend. No issue with blinding oncoming drivers, no one flashing high beams at me and a much brighter commute home.
Super easy to install with my only issue being the orientation of the plug in to the harness.
