Your vehicle’s signal and parking lights are used to indicate your driving intentions to other drivers. They help other drivers see when you are going to turn, change lanes or park the car while driving on the street. Signal & parking lights play an important role in keeping you and other drivers safe and reduce the probability of accidents. Signal and parking lights are generally placed at the right and left corners of a vehicle. You will find turn signals at the front, sides and rear ends of the vehicle. Some manufacturers also put them in other, more visible spots like the side mirrors. The goal of signal lights placement is to make them more visible for others and make it safer to drive on the road. You need to have powerful and reliable indicator lights on your car that meet regulations and keep you safer on the road.

What Lights Can You Install for Signal & Parking?

Basically there are four components that make up the signal & parking lights system on your vehicle. The first of these are the corner lights. These are installed at the front and rear of your vehicle right next to the headlights and taillights. On many newer vehicles, the corner lights are integrated into the headlights and taillights. These lights have amber, orange or yellow reflectors built into them that give them a very orange kind of glow despite the color of light generated by the bulb. Sometimes, the reflectors are clear or white and the bulb needs to be yellow to generate the signal color required by law. Parking lights are also part of the system. They can be mounted on the front or rear bumper or the body of the vehicle itself. Parking lights can be set to flash when you switch the turn signal or headlights on and put the vehicle into parking mode. How they function depends very much on the make and model of the vehicle. Repeater lights are placed at the left and right sides of the vehicle. Some models also have them on the front fender. These lights blink when you turn the corresponding turn signal on. Repeater lights are generally smaller in size and may or may not illuminate depending on whether the headlights are on or not. Reflectors are built into a light’s casing and located very close to the bulb. They are used to reflect light in a given color, for instance, amber for turn signals and red for brake lights. Reflectors do not have any electrical system behind them so they don’t blink or turn on with the signal or parking lights.

Replacing Your Signal and Parking Lights

If your signal or parking lights get too dim or become damaged for some reason, you will need to have them replaced. We offer an extensive range of signal and parking replacement bulbs that will meet the needs of most drivers. LEDs are the preferred choice for signal and parking lights these days. LEDs are brighter, more visible and consume very little power. You can also get halogen bulbs as replacement for your signal and parking lights. They are cheaper and built on a trusted technology. Signal and parking lights generally use the 3047, 3156, 3157, 3356, 3456, 3457, 3457K and 3457A types of bulbs for most models of vehicles. If you are looking for something different or unsure about the correct replacement bulb for your signal and parking lights, then get in touch with our experts who can guide you best.

Upgrade your Signal and Parking Lights Through Our Store

Most vehicles come with halogen bulbs for their signal and parking lights. Car owners who are used to LEDs or want to try out the new technology often switch them to the brighter LED signal and parking lights. If you are looking to upgrade your vehicle’s signal and parking lights to LED, bear in mind that your vehicle will need proper conversion to LED polarity for the lights to work effectively. If you simply change the bulb without the necessary resistor harnesses in place, you will end up with faulty turn signals that act funny and stop blinking. This can increase your driving risk and cause an accident. Headlight Revolution store offers a range of turn signal and parking lights based on size, type of bulb and vehicle specifications. If it can be installed on a vehicle, chances are that you will find it in our store.
