The Pinnacle: One of the HID bulbs that put GTR Lighting on the map was this, the Ultra Series. It provides a seriously powerful upgrade to anyone looking to go from halogen to HID.


Precision: One of the hardest things to do in HID lighting is to get the alignment of the bulb itself in the halogen-based housing. Without that, no amount of tweaking and modification is going to get you proper lighting. Thankfully, GTR went to painstaking lengths to ensure an absolutely perfect alignment with the Ultra Series. Each and every bulb is laser aligned into the housing and checked for fitment before it leaves the factory.


Materials: To ensure that alignment doesn't go to waste, GTR uses the best Philips UV Resistant Quartz available. It won't dim and fade fast like lesser alternatives. It comes standard with insulated wiring to make the connections from your AMP style connectors to your ballast as though this harness came from the factory itself. No cutting, no soldering, no splicing. Just plug-n-play performance.


Benchmarking: GTR Lighting didn't design a ballast with simply their own product in mind, they built it to outperform the best of the best in the business. That's why you'll appreciate that the Ultra Series HID Ballast is quieter the competitors while also providing a lighting quick ignition of intense brightness in just .1 seconds with complete power in only 9 seconds. The assembly itself is built to handle the roughest trails, tracks, and weather you can throw at it. This ballast is the complete package.


Installation Ease: Coming in at an incredible compact 2.75x3.5 inches, thisballast is small enough to fit almost anywhere and has complete mounting hardware as well as a grounding strap included.


Flicker Free & No More Bulb Out: Thanks to intelligent Canbus integration technology and an ASIC controller, these ballasts can handling pulsed width voltage or even a complex Canbus circuit. GTR HID lighting. Nothing else matters!

So easy to install and the beam pattern is legit. At first I was looking at the led kits. I almost bought the gtr led kit. I am glad I went with the GTR HID kit gen 5!!!!! To me it's cheaper to replace if the bulb goes out. Another reason I picked the HID kit. Bright asssss F@%#•. Thank you headlight revolution !

Greatest HID kit I've purchased

I installed these on my 2017 Ram and could not be happier. Very easy plug and play, extremely bright, but best of all, NO lamp out warning Chrysler is famous for!! Fast warm up time and do not flicker one bit.

Just wat I was looking for...

I have a 2016 dodge Durango in these lights installed very easily and are very bright. At night I drive on a lot of highways that are not lit and are very dark and full of wildlife on the road. My OEM headlight bulbs were not very bright and so I purchased LED bulbs which were still not bright enoughĶ Then I installed these and the whole world was lit up. They're super bright and without the problematic flicker that other aftermarket headlights produce. I was glad I purchase them.

2017 Honda Civic

I was fortunate enough to purchase a vehicle with projector headlights. However, the Civic comes with halogen bulbs, and I immediately sought out better lighting options.

I tried several LED bulbs off of Amazon, and none of them could beat the halogens in terms of lighting distance, and I tried four or five different kinds. I stumbled across the LED headlight bulb shootout done by Headlight Revolution, and upon visiting their website, I knew that it was the real deal. I used to own a 2008 Jeep, and was well versed in quality lighting options (Rigid light bars, JW Speaker headlights, etc.). On the website, I found all of the excellent brands I had known as a Wrangler owner, and knew these people had my Civic lighting solution.

I looked first at the GTR LED headlight bulbs, as I am a huge fan of LED's and have never owned HID's before. I also looked at this product, the HID kit. I noticed a tidbit about LED's in projector housings on the GTR LED bulb product page, which was a very welcome touch to the website, and ultimately led to me buying this kit. They recommended buying an HID kit for projector housings, and based on my experience with the Amazon LED's, things started to make some sense.

It was hard to swallow the cost of the HID's, and I was very hopeful that spending so much on a lighting solution would yield excellent results. At the same time, I also purchased the GTR LED headlight bulbs for my high beams, which are reflector housings, and what LED's are recommended for.

I opted for the 6000K color in the HID kit, in the hopes that it would match the color of the 6000K LED's for the high beams. Unfortunately, the HID kit is not a crystal white color when compared to the LED's; it is slightly (and I mean SLIGHTLY) bluish-green, when compared directly to the high beams. This leads me to believe that the 5000K color might have been a better option to be perfectly white, and I will go with that color temperature once these bulbs burn out.

Now, on to the brightness. Wow. I am very impressed with the light this kit puts out. The effect is most noticeable when driving on an unlit stretch of highway, next to other cars. I can't help but chuckle at the inferiority of factory halogen headlight bulbs in other cars. This kit makes those headlights look like the equivalent of a match being held out the car window.

The project housing does an excellent job of controlling beam pattern, and the cutoff is crisp and in the same spot as the halogens, which means I don't even come close to blinding other drivers. The warm up time is about right, and I don't pay much attention to it anymore.

I did have some difficulty installing these. I got everything wired up, and turned on the headlights... Nothing. I eventually found out that I needed to reverse the black male connector that comes from the bulbs in order for the headlights to work, since factory halogens are insensitive to positive and negative directions. I watched the GMC Sierra HID installation video done by Headlight Revolution, and somewhere in there, they talk about removing the connector. They reinstall it later, but in the same orientation; you need to flip it 180 degrees if you are installing this kit on a 2017 Civic. Other than that, the hardest thing was finding a place to put the ballasts, and I eventually watched enough youtube videos to see that putting them in the fender wells was a decent enough place. I have yet to use the grounding wires, because I have a very hard time justifying drilling into my brand new car. I haven't had any issues yet, and I don't imagine I will.

Overall, I am very impressed thus far. Time will tell how long the bulbs will last, and I hope they last the specified 2500 hours. That's nothing compared to LED's, but the light output is excellent, so I am happy. Overall, other than the price, I am very pleased.

The reason I gave the four stars is that one of the metal wire is swollen like it's about to explode. Light does work fine, but I don't know I would have to wait and see. Headlight revolution if you see this comment I would love to send you the picture of the picture.

Also, I would be RECOMMENDED to purchase any HID products through Headlight revolution because their customer service is the best of the best I ever dealt with. You will love them and I'm looking forward to purchases more from them.

Upgraded my headlights and now I can actually see!

I actually ordered this almost two years ago, and then life happened, so it didn't get installed until just a few months ago. The kit itself was really easy to work with -- but my car is a royal pain to upgrade. I ended up having to take the bumper off to gain enough access to the headlights for my hands. Not the fault of the kit, though -- everything in the kit worked smoothly.

I'm loving the new lights.
