Your factory side markers are probably running dingy, warm-colored incandescent bulbs, and if you drive at night you already know how flat that light looks next to the rest of your truck or car. Bottom line, the right marker for your vehicle depends on how your factory setup is wired, so match it to your year, make, and model before you buy.

On trucks running the common four-piece marker setup, amber up front and red in the rear, the Morimoto XB units are a true plug-and-play swap. Same brackets, same wire harness shape, same pressure-fit clips your factory bulb used, so it is a bolt-in job, not a wiring project. The XB assemblies run high-powered Osram LEDs behind a UV-coated polycarbonate lens, and on many trucks they ship four to a box with a 2-year warranty. That matters because a marker that does not seat into the OEM clip the same way will rattle loose or let moisture in, and we have seen both from cheaper universal bulbs.

Some marker housings also pull double duty as a turn signal, and on those the sequential lighting function is a factory-style feature, not an add-on. Not every assembly is sequential, so check the listing for your truck. If your setup includes that function, pair it with a look at turn signals built for the same wiring so the whole corner of your vehicle matches.

In practice, front and rear markers are not interchangeable parts. Fronts illuminate amber, rears illuminate red, and the lens tint, connector shape, and mounting hardware are specific to the assembly your vehicle shipped with. Which means the safest path is picking the listing built for your year, make, and model rather than guessing off a photo.
