What Does HR Tested Mean?
When Headlight Revolution was founded in 2011, the aftermarket lighting industry had a problem: every brand claimed their product was the best, but nobody was testing them side by side on real vehicles. Customers were left guessing, and a lot of people wasted money on products that didn't fit, didn't perform, or caused electrical issues with their vehicle.
The HR Tested Difference: Why We Test for the Best Lighting Upgrade, Guaranteed
HR Tested was built to solve that. When a product carries the HR Tested designation, it means our team physically installed it on the vehicle it's designed for, measured the brightness with a digital lux meter, evaluated the beam pattern against a wall, checked for electrical compatibility with the vehicle's factory systems, and confirmed that it fits without modification. If it doesn't pass every one of those checks, we don't recommend it.

How We Test
Every HR Tested product goes through the same evaluation process. We don't rely on manufacturer specs or marketing materials. We test with our own hands, on our own vehicles, in our own facility.
Brightness Measurement
We use a digital lux meter at a fixed distance to measure exact brightness output. Every product gets compared against your stock bulb so you can see the real improvement in numbers.
Beam Pattern Evaluation
A bright bulb with a scattered beam pattern is worse than stock. We evaluate every product for beam pattern accuracy to make sure light goes where it should and not into oncoming traffic.
Vehicle-Specific Fitment
We install every product on the exact vehicle it's designed for. If a bulb doesn't physically fit, requires modification, or interferes with dust covers and housings, it doesn't make the cut.
Electrical Compatibility
Modern vehicles use CANbus, BCM monitoring, and BLIS radar systems. We check for error codes, hyper flash, flickering, and DRL signal conflicts on your specific platform.
Thermal Performance
LED products generate heat. We verify that cooling systems work properly and that products maintain performance over time without overheating inside sealed headlight housings.
Installation Assessment
We document the full install process so we can tell you exactly how long it takes, what tools you need, and any vehicle-specific steps you should know about before you start.
