LED Brake Light Bulbs for Trucks, SUVs, and Cars
Factory brake light bulbs use a wire-wound filament that dims a little more every year, and by the time you notice it the driver behind you already has less warning than they should. So this is where you fix that, with LED replacements sized for the sockets Detroit actually used, 1157, 3157, 7443, and 921/T15, plus kits our team has already built and tested for specific vehicles. If you're driving anything older than the last decade or so, there's a good chance a 1157 brake light bulb is already sitting behind your lens right now.
Worth noting: a red LED bulb passes light through a red lens far more efficiently than a white LED does, even when the white bulb measures brighter on paper. We proved that out on a 16-21 Honda Civic tail light test and it held up.
Here is the catch on bulb size: the 2020+ Ford Bronco brake socket uses a 4257 bulb, not the more common 1157 or 3157, and our resistor-free Carbide 2.0 bulb doesn't come in that size at all. We had to spec the red Armor Series 4257 instead. Match the socket first, brightness second.
LED Tail Lights - What to choose?
Installing a 1157 brake light bulb upgrade is usually plug and play, straight swap, done. If a bulb doesn't light on the first try it's likely polarity-specific, so pull it, flip it 180 degrees, and push it back in. That said, the turn signal socket right next to it is a different animal, since newer vehicles can hyper-flash or throw a dash error without a load-correcting bulb. I'd sort your brake bulbs first, then work through Turn Signal Bulbs before you button the housing back up.
