Turn Signal Bulb Upgrades That Fit and Work Right
Your blinker looks washed out next to every other truck at the light, or worse, it started hyperflashing the second you tried an LED swap on your own. In practice, turn signal bulbs are one of the trickier upgrades on a vehicle because the bulb type, the lens color, and the electrical load all have to line up. That is what this page is built around: vehicle specific turn signal kits and direct LED replacements we have actually installed and tested, not just parts pulled from a fitment chart.
We put a stock incandescent bulb up against the Xenon Depot XTR VF, the VLEDS V6 Triton, and the GTR Lighting Ultra i-LED side by side. The stock bulb worked, but it was the dimmest of the four by a wide margin. The XTR VF stayed close to stock in output but gave a noticeably better amber tone, the V6 Triton stepped up both color and brightness, and the Ultra i-LED came out on top for raw output. Still, brightness is not the whole story. If an LED swap starts hyperflashing or throws an error, that is almost never a bad bulb, it is a missing load resistor or turn signal adapter. The GTR Lighting Carbide bulbs solve that a different way: they carry the resistance built into the bulb itself, so on most turn signal applications they run plug and play with no resistors wired in under the dash. One catch on those larger bulbs, they are polarity specific, so if a fresh one does not light, pull it, flip it 180 degrees, and push it back in. Turn signals almost never fail on their own, they usually get overlooked while brake and reverse bulbs get all the attention.
