The 2021-2023 Ford F-150 is the 14th generation of America's best-selling truck, bringing a redesigned front end, an extensively updated interior, and a factory lighting system that arrived in three distinct configurations: standard halogen reflector, factory LED, and higher-output LED trim levels with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) integrated into the tail light housings.

The headlight wiring on this generation is more involved than any previous F-150. Halogen trucks use a standard multi-pin connector that is plug-and-play with every aftermarket headlight on this page. Trucks equipped from the factory with OEM LED headlights use a digital LIN bus signal rather than a standard analog voltage. Installing an aftermarket headlight assembly on an OEM LED truck without the correct adapter will result in non-functioning lights. The Morimoto LF498H adapter harness translates the OEM LED signal to analog and is required on all LED-equipped trucks for every Morimoto headlight assembly. AlphaRex also offers their own OEM LED adapter for this generation; however, compatibility is limited to the Nova & Luxx series; The Pro series does not support the AlphaRex OEM LED adapter and is not compatible with factory LED-equipped trucks.

Morimoto designed the 2021+ F-150 platform as the foundation for one of the most tightly integrated front-end lighting systems they have ever built. The XB LED headlights (LF498 series) pair directly with the XBG LED DRL Grille - a factory-location replacement grille with pre-installed LED DRL bars tuned to optically and color-match the headlights. The grille DRLs dim at night when the headlights activate, wiring directly into the headlight harness with no additional relays. No previous generation of F-150 has this kind of front-end lighting integration available.

For the tail lights, the 21-23 F-150 came in three wiring configurations: standard incandescent, incandescent with BLIS radar modules built into the housing, and factory OEM LED with BLIS. Morimoto's XB LED tail lights (LF734 red, LF735 smoked) are engineered to work with all three. The BLIS radar module transfers directly from the stock housing to the XB housing with no splicing or modification. There is one compatibility exception: trucks equipped with Ford's Onboard Scales feature use a different reverse light circuit that is not compatible with the XB tail lights.

Bi-LED projectors deliver substantially more usable output than the factory halogen system with a controlled cutoff that can be aimed without blinding oncoming drivers. For owners who want the most features, the AlphaRex Nova Series brings five LED projectors, a startup animation, and sequential switchback turn signals. The Luxx Series delivers full LED dual-projector performance with sequential turn signals at a lower price point. Both are plug-and-play with the included DRL fuse tap harness. Two-year warranty.

The Morimoto XBG LED DRL Grille is available exclusively for this generation and integrates directly with the XB LED headlights. Two XBG LED DRL bars come pre-installed, color-matched to the headlights in white or amber. Available in four configurations: XBG21 (white DRL, chrome trim), XBG22 (amber DRL, paintable), XBG23 (white DRL, chrome), XBG24 (amber DRL, chrome). All use factory mounting points with no drilling. OEM LED trucks require the XBG21H adapter harness. Not compatible with Raptor. Five-year warranty.

For fog lights, the Morimoto 4Banger Fog Light Kit (BAF071) places four 4Banger pods into the factory fog light locations using brackets precision-engineered to sit flush with the bumper face. Available in NCS (Nichia) or HXB (Osram HX Boost) output levels in white or yellow. Both halogen and OEM LED fog configurations are supported through the included wiring kit. For tail lights, the Morimoto XB LED Tails (LF734 red, LF735 smoked) deliver 3D sequential turn signal optics and improved reverse output in a fully plug-and-play assembly. BLIS modules transfer directly from the stock housing. Not compatible with Onboard Scales system trucks. The Morimoto Backup Boost Bar adds 2,700 lumens of focused reverse lighting above the license plate and wires directly into the XB tail light harness. AlphaRex Luxx and Nova LED tail lights offer sequential LED tube styling with or without the BLIS cutout at a lower price point.

For halogen trucks, drop-in LED bulbs in the factory headlight housings are the lowest-cost upgrade path. GTR Lighting Ultra Series and CSP Mini bulbs are the proven choices for H11 low beam sockets on this platform. LED fog bulb upgrades are also available for H11 fog sockets on equipped trucks.

The 21-23 Raptor uses the same headlight housing as the standard F-150 and accepts all headlight assemblies on this page. The XBG grille does not fit the Raptor. For the Raptor's third brake light, the Morimoto X3B40 is the vehicle-specific replacement.
